LAKEWOOD – Charges have been filed against the father of the baby found crossing near 201 Joe Parker Road last Saturday.

On Friday afternoon, 41-year-old Evgeniy Dorman surrendered himself to the Lakewood Township Police Department. He was charged with cruelty/neglect of children and was released pending a future court date.

On Sept. 22, Dorman’s 10-month-old son crawled through an open front door and about 140 into the road before he was found by Eatontown resident Cory Cannon. Cannon snapped two photos to document the incident before leaving his vehicle to retrieve the baby. An unnamed neighbor, however, scooped up the child and returned him to his family.

Officer Kevin Ortiz responded to the initial call. Lakewood Police Det. Michael Cavallo and Det. Stephanie Bayha of the Ocean County Prosecutor Office investigated.
