LAKEWOOD — Lakewood Police announced that charges have been filed in connection with the Feb. 14 incident where a student was almost hit by a school bus while crossing the street.

Charges have been filed against the bus driver, 41-year old Moses Weisburger of Lakewood, and the bus company, Congregation Talmud Torah Toras Yisroel, following the incident. Police said that several motor vehicle summonses were issued, including Missing Safety Equipment and Failure to Maintain Records.

The incident was captured on video, which shows a 7-year old boy getting off the school bus before crossing the Chestnut Street where he was almost struck by the school bus. The bus began moving but stopped just before hitting him. The boy was not injured in the incident.

Both the bus company owner and the bus driver are expected to be in court in early March.
