BEACHWOOD – A woman was sitting in her car when a suspected car burglar opened one of the car doors, was surprised to see someone inside, and ran away.
The incident happened just after midnight on October 19 on the 1200 block of Pacific Avenue, police said. The victim had just returned home and was sitting in the driver’s seat for a few minutes.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The suspect appeared to be startled that someone was in the car. A search of the area did not find him.
Police said he was Caucasian with dark eyes, short dark hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information concerning this investigation is asked to contact Detective David Bowden at 732-286-6000 ext. 108.
Anyone living in the area with residential security cameras are asked to view their system for footage that may be useful to the investigation.
