SOUTH TOMS RIVER – The Social Security Administration will never call you, asking for your social security number.

South Toms River Police are warning the public after a resident reached out to complain about receiving a scam telemarketing call. The call originated from an 810 area code out of Michigan.

“Residents should always remain vigilant regarding suspicious phone calls requesting your personal information and the next new scam going around. As always, if you have any questions regarding suspicious phone calls you receive, do not hesitate to contact your local police department,” South Toms River Police said in an official statement.
