No Injuries, No Foul Play In Killington Road Home Fire

BERKELEY – A fire that erupted at a Killington Road home Jan. 14 did not result in any injuries, authorities said.

The four persons who reside in the home escaped without injury, Berkeley Township Police Chief Karin DiMichele told Jersey Shore Online. The residents were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River as a precautionary measure.

The Ocean County Fire Marshals office confirmed that although a cause isn’t yet known, foul play is not suspected.

Authorities responded to the home around 10:18 p.m. Monday. The residence, located in the Silver Ridge Retirement Community, was fully engulfed when emergency crews arrived.

Assisting the police were the Manitou Park Fire Department, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Department, Bayville Fire Department, Toms River Fire Departments 1 and 2, Berkeley Township EMS, South Toms River EMS and Toms River EMS.

The fire is being investigated by the Berkeley Township Detective Bureau, The Ocean County Prosecutors Office and The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
