BEACHWOOD – If you see a trailer selling hot dogs on the site of der Wunder Wiener on Route 9, they are not taking its place. They are raising funds to help with the medical bills of the owner.

Two local PBAs, Berkeley Local 237 and Beachwood-Pine Beach Local 253, will be setting up a trailer on the Wunder Wiener’s location and selling hot dogs, chips, and drinks. The trailer will be there on July 5, 6, and 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from those sales will go to the family. They will also be taking donations there.

“While we will never be able to duplicate his skills, we will certainly try our best to get close,” according to a flyer.

Councilman Gerald LaCrosse, 75, was inside the food truck on the morning of June 11 when a vehicle left the roadway and crashed through it. At the present time, LaCrosse is recovering from injuries at a rehab center.
