BERKELEY – A local scout troop and other volunteers were thanked for their efforts cleaning up a beach area recently.
Boy Scout Troop 9503 was part of a clean-up organized by the Berkeley Township Waterways Advisory Committee. They worked on the beaches of 22nd through 24th streets in South Seaside Park. It was sponsored by Clean Ocean Action.
Beth Collis, one of the volunteers, said they found all sorts of garbage, including the kitchen sink.
Bill McGrath, a member of the committee, said that another clean-up will be held along the Cedar Creek this fall.
