BERKELEY – A Bayville woman was arrested on drunk driving charges after a two-car crash late Friday night at Route 9 and Station Road, according to Berkeley Township Police.
Officers responded to the intersection around 10:45 p.m. on August 29 after a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Erica Noffsinger, 51, attempted to make a left turn and struck a southbound 2025 Chevrolet Equinox.
Police said Noffsinger was suspected of driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where a blood warrant was executed.
Noffsinger was charged with three counts of assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to yield at an intersection. She was released on summonses.
Three people inside the Equinox suffered minor injuries and were also transported to Community Medical Center by Berkeley Township EMS.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Ptl. Wahl at 732-341-6600.
Authorities noted that the charges are accusations, and Noffsinger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
