Brick Incumbents Seek Spots On Ballot, Challenged By Republicans

BRICK – The mayor and three council members are seeking the support of Democrats to run for another term in the primary election. Meanwhile, the Republicans have built a slate of challengers.

There are three people running for the mayor’s position in the primary. Incumbent John Ducey, 214 Kelly Lynn Lane, is running unopposed for the Democrat’s spot.

Domenick Brando, 12 Commodore Drive, is seeking nomination from the Republican club. He is being challenged by Martin Ebert, 766 Tall Oaks Dr., under the party listed as “Brick’s Honest, Independent Republican.”

 There are three council spots up for election. The Democrats are sending Marianna Pontoriero, 2347 Hooper Ave., Paul Mummolo, 404 Princeton Ave., and Heather deJong, 421 Hessler Way for support. All three are current council members.

The three Republicans seeking nomination are Marilyn Lago, 579 N. Lakeshore Dr., John Ciocco, 224 Greentree Rd., and Lois Turner, 547 Alexander Ave.

All terms are for four years. The primary election will be held on June 6.
