JACKSON – A Jackson Township High School student was recognized for her resilience, perseverance and personal growth during a countywide awards program honoring students who have overcome challenges.
Aahonstii Wallace was selected by her teachers to represent Jackson Township High School at the Unsung Hero Student Recognition Awards, held at the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena in Toms River.
The awards are sponsored by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ocean County Executive County Superintendent of Schools and the Ocean County Association of School Administrators. Students from schools across Ocean County were honored for overcoming obstacles, persevering through difficult circumstances or making significant academic progress.
School officials said Wallace has shown the importance of determination, understanding that sometimes simply showing up can be one of the hardest steps. Through hard work and resilience, she continues to take each day as it comes while demonstrating strength and perseverance.
Wallace is also a talented poet whose writing has been described as impactful and encouraging.
