JACKSON – A fundraiser has been organized to help the family of Ronald Miller Jr., a longtime plumbing inspector and Jackson Township Building Department employee, following his sudden death after a medical emergency last month.
According to a GoFundMe page created by his sister Christine, Miller died unexpectedly on April 30, after suffering a medical emergency while driving.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved brother/father/son Ronald Miller Jr.,” the fundraiser states. “We are really trying to honor his wishes with a proper burial.”
Family members said they are facing financial hardship while trying to pay for funeral and burial expenses and are asking the community for assistance.
Loved ones described Miller as a kind, generous and humorous man who touched the lives of many people throughout the area.
Miller, 47, of Lawrenceville, died at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, according to his obituary. Born in Trenton, he spent his life in the region and most recently lived in Lawrenceville.
He worked as a master plumber and plumbing inspector for several municipalities during his career. Outside of work, Miller enjoyed taking Sunday drives in search of antiques, cheering for the Washington Redskins and spending time with his son. He was also a longtime member of American Legion Post 458.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Stanley and Sophie Miller, and his aunt, Patricia Doan.
Miller is survived by his parents, Ronald Miller Sr. and Sharon Miller; his son, Damian Miller; Damian’s mother, Maria Elena Festa-Miller; sisters Tammy Chandler, Christine Miller, Laurie Miller-Diggs and Patricia Miller; aunt Teresa Matteson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
The family is encouraging anyone unable to donate financially to share the fundraiser with others.
