Truck Fire In Toms River Now Under Probe

TOMS RIVER – A vehicle burst into flames before 10 a.m. at the Toms River Department of Public Works Tuesday.

The truck fire was reported at 9:50 a.m. The roll-off truck, engine compartment an cab well were engulfed, according to Toms River Chief Fire Inspector Kevin Esposito. The fire was extinguished by 10:02 a.m.

Silverton and Pleasant Plains fire companies responded.

There is no word yet how the fire started or if anyone was injured or other property damaged. It was not announced if it was a municipal or private vehicle involved.
