POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Firefighters responded to a car fire shortly before sundown Thursday night that put residential and commercial buildings at risk.
According to the Facebook page of the Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad, several people had to be evacuated from the area but no one was injured. The wind made fighting it difficult but it was out within less than an hour.
The post stated that Ocean Fire Company, Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company #2 and Point Beach First Aid responded.
The cause is unknown at this point and police are investigating.
