TOMS RIVER — Ocean County lottery players had a lucrative weekend, with two tickets sold in Toms River combining for more than $380,000 in prizes.
A Powerball ticket purchased at Emporium Cigar & Convenience, 384 Dover Road, won $150,000 in the Saturday, Aug. 8 drawing, according to the New Jersey Lottery’s weekly list of prizes of $10,000 or more.
The following night brought an even larger win.
A Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold at Walmart #1844, 950 Route 37 West, matched all five numbers in the Sunday, Aug. 9 drawing to capture the $232,298 jackpot. The winning numbers were 1, 12, 13, 25 and 29. The Bullseye number was 13 and the XTRA number was 2.
The Toms River Walmart will receive a $2,000 retailer bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The Lottery said 13 other players matched four numbers plus the Bullseye for $500 prizes, with three of them doubling their winnings to $1,000 through the XTRA option.
Together, the two Ocean County winning tickets were worth $382,298.
Elsewhere along the Jersey Shore, a $30,000 Big Money Spectacular prize was sold at Rugmill Deli & Convenience in Freehold, Monmouth County.
