TOMS RIVER – Police and EMS are currently on the scene of a major accident involving an overturned car.
The incident occurred this afternoon at the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Route 37. An SUV is seen on its side, with two people possibly entrapped. Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the crash or if any injuries resulted although several scanner sites did report hearing of some.
An eye-witness said that they saw a “good amount of smoke/exhaust.”
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office has alerted drivers to avoid the area.
