Toms River Shooting Victim Identified, Probe Continues

  TOMS RIVER – Javon Cutler, 19, of Bayville is currently listed in critical condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, police said.

  Cutler was identified as the man who was shot in the head on October 11 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Police said he and two friends were leaving the Toms River Apartments on Route 9 when someone opened fire into the vehicle. Cutler was in the rear passenger seat.

  The driver of the vehicle drove straight to Community Medical Center in Toms River but Cutler was transferred to JSUMC.

  Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little said that while this is an active and ongoing investigation, there is no known danger to the public at this time.
