TOMS RIVER – Following the recent barrage of winter storms since the beginning of the year, the Toms River Department of Public Works has been working to fix the potholes throughout the township.

Since January, DPW crews have filled 202 potholes. Some asphalt plants with hot patch have reopened in the midst of inclimate weather and will increase operations, according to DPW officials.

“The winter always takes a serious toll on our roadways,” said Lou Amoruso, director of Public Works. “Our crews have and will be assessing pothole damage all over the Town and will make necessary repairs so that our residents and visitors enjoy safe passage.”

Amoruso reminds residents to call the DPW to alert them about potholes so they can work on fixing them. To contact the department, call 732-255-1000 ext. 8140.
