JERSEY SHORE – After they earned their way to the Little League World Series, the Toms River East Little Leaguers will be recognized at the September 10 BlueClaws game.

The team of 12-year-olds were able to capture the hearts of the Jersey Shore on their magical run to Williamsport last month.

“We’re very excited to welcome out the Toms River East Little League team to the ballpark on our final homestand,” BlueClaws Team President Joe Ricciutti said. “We’re celebrating ‘Locals’ Summer’ at the ballpark this week and having a local team that made it big is a great addition!”

On August 2, the team won the New Jersey State championship after defeating Hillsdale and earned a place in the regional tournament in Bristol, Connecticut. Then they finished second, earning a spot in Williamsport at the Little League World Series.

At the September 10 BlueClaws game, a ceremony with the players and manager Paul Mika will take place on the field at the end of the Toms River East Little League parade. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to get to their seats early.

The BlueClaws host their final six home games of the season, Locals’ Summer, presented by Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, from September 7 through 12 at FirstEnergy Park.

Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale now at BlueClaws.com
