TOMS RIVER – With heavy rain and high winds expected from an approaching nor’easter, Mayor Daniel T. Rodrick has announced that Trick-or-Treating in Toms River will be postponed until Saturday, November 1.
The change comes as town officials prioritize safety amid the storm threat, which is expected to affect the area during Halloween.
“Safety must come first as we prioritize the well-being of our children and families,” Rodrick said. “By rescheduling Trick-or-Treating, we’re ensuring kids can enjoy the holiday in safer weather and parents can participate without the stress of weekday schedules.”
The mayor noted that holding the event on a weekend also gives families more time to enjoy the festivities in a relaxed atmosphere.
Toms River’s world-famous Halloween Parade, hosted annually by Toms River Fire Company No. 1, will still take place on October 31 as planned. Residents are encouraged to attend and celebrate safely.
