TOMS RIVER – A township location is one of 13 TD Bank branches scheduled to close in the state in the near future.

The Mule Road branch of the TD Bank was named as one of the branches that will be closed by April. It is among the 80 branches in New Jersey which represents 6 percent of the bank’s 1,223 locations from Florida to Maine.

The stated reason for the 13 closures were based on transaction volumes and their proximity to other TD Bank branches. It was also based on bank customers use of multiple branches.

Banks have been closing or merging their branch network as customers banking has shifted to more online use and through the most modern of ATMs owned by the bank firms.

According to a prepared statement by TD Bank, “TD is continually evolving the way we serve our customers and communities to best meet changing customer expectations and behaviors, remain competitive and drive long-term growth.”

Regular users of the 13 banks being closed were contacted about the location’s closure. Other locations include Cherry Hill, Paramus, Ridgewood, Totowa and Pennington.
