Police Seek Suspect In Toms River Smoke Shop Robbery

TOMS RIVER – Township police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of robbing a smoke shop early Monday morning.

According to authorities, the robbery occurred at 6:03 a.m. on January 19 at the Noble Smoke Shop, located at 203 Route 37 East. Investigators said a lone suspect entered the business and attempted to restrain a female employee using plastic zip ties.

Police said the employee was able to break free and escape without injury before calling 911. The suspect fled the scene and was last seen heading toward the Jamestown Apartments area.

The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket with a fur-trimmed hood, light-colored cargo pants and black sneakers.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the suspect to come forward.
