TOMS RIVER – Investigators have deemed a garage fire in which no one was hurt, accidental in nature.
John Novak from the Toms River Fire Bureau investigated and determined that the Sunday night blaze was started by hot fireplace ash and embers being discarded too close to combustible materials, according to Toms River officials.
The fire was contained to the garage and extinguished quickly by firefighters from Station 25 Toms River Fire Co. 1, Station 26 Toms River Fire Co. #2 and Station 28 East Dover Fire Company.
