TOMS RIVER – If you weren’t able to make it out to Trenton last week in support of Toms River Regional Schools, you have another opportunity to be heard!

The communities of Toms River, South Toms River, Pine Beach and Beachwood are holding a Parent’s Press Conference before the Toms River Regional School District Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, December 18. The press conference will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., prior to the start of the regularly scheduled BOE.

The press conference will include guest speakers:

  • Oscar Levant Cradle, pastor of St. Thomas AME Church and former mayor of South Toms River
  • Vonnie Tursi, alumni, parent, grandparent
  • Rachel Remelgado, parent of TR North students
  • Greg Sycle, Toms River High School South senior class president

“Our objective is to bring awareness and attention to the school-funding crisis,” stated the communities. “This isn’t just about our school district. It will impact our communities, our local businesses, our economy, our property values.”

During the BOE meeting, Superintendent Healy and Business Administrator, Mr. W. Doering, will also be presenting information regarding the emergency state aid letter and the likely impacts to the district’s budget.
