TOMS RIVER – Word spread online about a “Christmas Bazaar” being hosted by Cattus Island County Park. But this event is not happening, and officials say it’s just a scam to collect money from crafters and small business owners wanting to rent tables.
The park put out a message: “It has come to our attention that there is a fake event appearing on Facebook: ‘CHRISTMAS BAZAAR’ at Cattus Island County Park. Be advised, this event is not happening at Cattus. DO NOT send them a deposit or vendor fees etc.”
The event was supposedly on December 11 and 12.
