Crash Claims Passenger On Route 18

  COLTS NECK – An Edison man died in a crash that took place in the early morning hours of November 14, police said.

  He was the passenger in a car driven by a Seaside Heights woman at around 3 a.m. Police have not released the names of those involved yet.

  She was driving south on Route 18 in Colts Neck when her Mazda left the roadway at around mile marker 20.8. When Colts Neck police arrived on scene, the car was upside down against a tree in a drainage culvert.

  The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

  The crash is still under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County SCART and Colts Neck Police Department.
