TOMS RIVER – An 87-year-old woman, who suffered from dementia and Alzheimer’s, had gone missing and was found dead in the snow, police reported.
The woman, who lived at the Oak Grove Mobile Home Park, was last seen by relatives at around midnight. About 4 and a half hours later, relatives called police because she was not at home.
Police officers, East Dover Fire and EMS personnel, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Division searched the area. At 6:20 a.m., she was found deceased in the snow about a mile away.
Police stated that the immediate cause of death is unknown, but they do not suspect foul play.
