Man Hospitalized After Being Ejected From Motorcycle

  TOMS RIVER – A man was hospitalized following a serious motorcycle accident that occurred last week on West End Ave.

  On Sept. 25, police responded to the area of West End Ave. for reports of a motorcycle accident, where they discovered 22-year old Gerard Bornemann of Brick on the front lawn of a residence.

  According to police, Bornemann was allegedly test driving a motorcycle when he lost control of the bike. He was ejected from the bike, rolling several times, striking a mailbox and landscaping rocks before coming to rest on the lawn, police said.

  Bornemann was then airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. He is listed in stable condition.

  Members of Island Heights Police Department, Island Heights First Aid Squad, Island Heights Fire Co. 1, the Toms River Police Department and Silverton First Aid responded to the incident.

  An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
