
TOMS RIVER – A 70-year-old man has been saved by local responders after he fell into a lagoon while feeding ducks.
The Toms River Police Department, Silverton Fire and Silverton EMS responded to Mariner’s Cove apartments on Kettle Creek Road about a man yelling for help in the lagoon.
Jillian Messina from the Toms River Police Department told Jersey Shore Online that serval neighbors helped to pull the victim safely out of the water.
After being saved, the victim told police that he was feeding the ducks when he accidentally fell into the cold water. The victim was then transported to the hospital by Silverton EMS.
Ocean County Scanner News reported the man was allegedly intoxicated, however that detail was not confirmed by police.
