Local House Of Worship Burglarized

TOMS RIVER – Police are asking the public for any information about a burglary that happened at a local place of worship over the weekend.

Toms River Police responded to a call from the Masjid Bilal Mosque, Muslim Society of the Jersey Shore around 10 a.m. Jan. 6. The mosque is located at 1733 Route 9.

The mosque’s manager, Mahmoud Atia, said his office had been ransacked. The safe containing cash had been cut open, and two HP laptops valued at $600 each were missing.

A shed out back had its doors broken open, but Atia said nothing appeared to be missing.
