TOMS RIVER – A fluid trail on a roadway helped police catch a hit and run driver who allegedly struck several parked vehicles in the wee hours of the morning. The suspect also faces DWI charges.

Toms River Police Department Spokesperson Jillian Messina confirms 24-year-old Vincent Soriano was driving his white pickup truck in the Silverton section of town in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 17.

Messina said Officer Worth responded to Maine Street and Jonquil Lane for a report of that truck hitting several parked cars. The sounds woke some residents who saw the truck leave eastbound on Maine Street.

There was a fluid trail as well as gouging in the asphalt of the roadway. Officers followed the trail which led them to Soriano.

Soriano was charged with DWI, DWI through a School Crossing and Reckless Driving.

Officer Marsicano was also involved in the probe and issued Soriano several summonses related to the crash.

No one was injured in the incident.
