TOMS RIVER – A K-9 officer will outfitted with protective gear thanks to the collaboration of two groups.

The Ortley Beach Moose Lodge #399 of Seaside Heights donated to the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The vest will be given to K-9 Riggs, and it will be embroidered with “Gifted by Ortley Beach Moose Lodge #399.” It will protect Riggs from bullets and stabs. The vest is expected within eight to ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 4,100 vests since its inception in 2009.
