TOMS RIVER – A 23-year-old Toms River man has pleaded guilty to distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.
Logan Oliveira entered the guilty plea Dec. 16 before Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari. At sentencing, scheduled for Feb. 20, 2026, prosecutors will seek a five-year state prison sentence with five years of parole ineligibility on the distribution charge, along with a concurrent five-year sentence on the possession charge, Billhimer said.
Oliveira will also be subject to parole supervision for life and required to register under Megan’s Law.
The investigation began after the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting that an individual was uploading and distributing images of child sexual abuse material across multiple online platforms, authorities said.
Detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad traced the activity to a cellphone number associated with a Toms River residence and identified Oliveira as the suspect, prosecutors said. Investigators also determined that Oliveira frequently communicated with Julianna Goldstein, 20, of Berkeley Township.
According to prosecutors, a review of messages between the two showed that Goldstein sent nude photos of juveniles to Oliveira. The investigation further revealed that Oliveira instructed Goldstein to engage in inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile and send photographs of that conduct to him.
On April 29, 2025, detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant at Oliveira’s Toms River home. A preliminary forensic review of his electronic devices uncovered several files containing child sexual abuse material, authorities said. Oliveira was arrested without incident and taken to the Ocean County Jail.
Although initially released under New Jersey’s bail reform law, Oliveira has been held at the county jail since June 12, 2025, for violating the terms of his release, prosecutors said.
That same day, investigators executed search warrants at Goldstein’s Berkeley Township residence. A forensic examination of her electronic devices also uncovered child sexual abuse material, authorities said. Goldstein was charged with distribution, possession and manufacturing of child pornography, conspiracy to manufacture child pornography, and criminal sexual contact. She was arrested without incident, lodged in the Ocean County Jail and later released under bail reform. Charges against her remain pending.
Billhimer credited Assistant Prosecutor Lynn Juan, who is handling the case, and praised multiple local, state and federal agencies for their role in the investigation.
