STAFFORD — Township officials will offer a free rabies vaccination clinic for local pet owners on December 6 at the Stafford Municipal Complex.
The walk-in clinic will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at 260 East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin. Vaccinations will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and pre-registration is not required.
Pet owners are asked to bring proof of previous rabies vaccinations. Animals with documented prior shots are eligible for a three-year vaccine; those without records will receive a one-year vaccination.
Officials remind residents that all pets must arrive properly restrained — dogs on non-retractable leashes and cats in secure, hard-sided carriers. Cats in cardboard carriers will not be permitted.
Licensing applications will be available on-site. The fee is $9 for spayed or neutered pets and $12 for unaltered animals. Residents are encouraged to arrive with checks already filled out to speed up the process.
