Ocean Township Police Investigate Social Media Threat

WARETOWN – This morning, officials of the Ocean Township Police Department investigated a social media post threatening the safety of the Waretown schools.

According to a post by Police Chief Michal Rogalski, “Patrol Officers and Detectives immediately investigated the social media post and determined that there was and is no credible threat,” to students or staff in the Waretown schools.

The schools did not respond in the form of a lockdown drill, according to a representative from the OTPD. The police have been keeping the school district informed of developments in the investigation since the threat was received.
