Man Tries To Steal $3,500 In Goods From Home Depot

  LACEY – A Forked River man was charged after allegedly attempting to make off with over $3,500 in stolen goods from Home Depot, according to police.

  On Sept. 24, police responded to the Lacey Home Depot for reports of several shoplifters. Once on the scene, police observed an adult male who identified himself as Christopher Miller. Officers were able to confirm the identity of a second suspect as 29-year old Christopher Cox of Forked River.  

  Cox was arrested for attempting to leave to store with $3,576 worth of stolen items. The second man was not apprehended.  

  Cox was charged with Shoplifting and Providing False Information. Police also discovered that Cox has two outstanding criminal warrants issued by the Toms River and Seaside Heights Municipal Courts.  He was transferred to the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
