STAFFORD – Police have charged a Bridgeton man with multiple drug offenses after allegedly finding fentanyl and crack cocaine in his possession during a pedestrian stop, authorities said.

According to the Stafford Township Police Department, members of the Drug Enforcement Unit stopped 36-year-old Michael Perrottet of West Industrial Boulevard, Bridgeton, around 5 p.m. on October 23 as he exited a 559 Transit Bus near Route 9 and McKinley Avenue.

Investigators said they had developed probable cause prior to the stop that Perrottet was carrying illegal narcotics. A search confirmed the presence of fentanyl and crack cocaine, police said.

Perrottet was charged with possession with intent to distribute less than half an ounce of both crack cocaine and fentanyl, possession of both substances, and two counts of conspiracy to distribute, including a fourth-degree conspiracy charge related to crack cocaine.

After being processed at police headquarters, Perrottet was transported to the Ocean County Jail.
