Man Accused Of Stealing And Using Credit Card From Unlocked Car

STAFFORD – A Whiting man faces burglary and theft charges after he allegedly broke into an unlocked vehicle and stole a credit card, police said.

Stafford Township Police confirmed 38-year-old Edward Meinwieser is accused of taking the charge card from the vehicle parked at a Beach Haven West home on August 9 and using it to make purchases.

On August 10, Patrolman Halliday and Patrolman Caporrino arrested Meinwieser on the strength of a warrant issued by Stafford Township Municipal Court.

Meinwieser was charged with Theft, Theft of a Credit Card, Burglary and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card.

He remains lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

The Stafford Township Police Department wants to remind everyone that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
