Local Officer Graduates From The Police Academy

  LACEY – The Lacey Township Police Department celebrated a fellow officer graduating from the Ocean County Police Academy’s 108th Basic class.

  Matthew D’Antonio was sworn into the department back in September of 2019. During this time is when he began training at the academy.

  D’Antonio was born and raised in Lacey Township and is a Lacey Township High School alumnus. After graduating from Ocean County College with an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Drum NY with the 10th Mountain Division, serving as an artilleryman.

  D’Antonio received an Honorable Discharge from the Army that resulted him to return home.

He attended Stockton University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Afterwards, he began working as a security officer for Southern Ocean Medical Center in Stafford Township.

  D’Antonio is now assigned to the Patrol Division in the Lacey Township Police Department and will begin a Field Training Officer program.
