LACEY – A township police officer has once again distinguished himself as one of Ocean County’s top marksmen following a strong showing at an annual law enforcement shooting competition.

Officer Christopher Triano competed in the Ocean County Chiefs of Police pistol match in October, facing more than 100 officers from departments across the county.

Triano finished second in both the iron sights handgun category and the optic sights handgun category, marking the second consecutive year he has ranked among the county’s best shooters.

He was recenlty recognized by Lacey Township Police Chief Paul J. Sullivan Jr. for his performance and dedication to training.

Department officials also congratulated the many officers and teams from throughout Ocean County who participated in the annual competition, adding they look forward to returning to the range for this year’s event.
