FORKED RIVER – If you had clothing at this local dry cleaner, you might have a hard time getting it back.

Adjacent businesses have confirmed that Joy Cleaners, located on Route 9 near the Fuji Japanese Restaurant, has suddenly closed its doors.

Since closing, some customers have voiced concerns about being unable to retrieve clothing they dropped off for cleaning. One customer posted to the local Lacey Township Chatter group on Facebook, announcing the permanent closing and advising others that no word was left on how to retrieve clothing left there.

If you are one of these unlucky Joy Cleaners customers, The Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs is advising you to file a complaint with the DCA to retrieve your clothing. Mail complaint forms to the Ocean County DCA at 1027 Hooper Ave., Building #2, P.O. Box 2191, Toms River, NJ 08745-2191.   The Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs ensured that they will get the cleaners to return customers’ clothing.
