Expect Smoke & Fog With Controlled Burns In The Area Today

  MANAHAWKIN – Where there is smoke, there is fire. But not to worry, this fire is safe.

  Residents have been informed by the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service that a controlled burn will be taking place today, November 6, in Manahawkin. The controlled burn will continue until dark.

  The burning will take place in the area of McKinley Avenue, Doc Cramer Boulevard and Katydid Drive.

  “Smoke and fog are expected. Only report to officials if you believe the source of the smoke or fire isn’t part of the controlled burn,” stated NJ Forest Fire Service officials.
