STAFFORD — A traffic stop in Stafford Township led to a drug possession charge for a Manahawkin woman, police said.

Patrolman Ryan Cahill stopped a vehicle at about 2:57 a.m. May 8 near East Bay Avenue and Parker Street, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.

Police said the driver, Kimberly A. Strahle, 57, of Manahawkin, was later suspected of having a controlled dangerous substance. Officers searched the vehicle and reported finding ketamine, which police said Strahle did not have a prescription for.

Strahle was taken into custody and charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

She was processed at Stafford Township Police Headquarters and released on a complaint summons. Her case is scheduled to proceed in Ocean County Superior Court, police said.
