Couple Nabbed With Multiple Kinds Of Illegal Drugs

  BARNEGAT – An Atlantic City couple was arrested in Barnegat for numerous drug charges after a traffic stop by the Crime Reduction Unit.

  Jennifer Colon, 46, and Julio Colon, 52, both of Atlantic City were charged on May 1, police reported.

  Jennifer Colon was charged with possession of methadone, possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.

  Julio Colon was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

  Both of them also had warrants, police said. Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.

  Chief Keith Germain praised the members of CRU for continuing to carry out their mission in the throes of a pandemic.

  “For anyone who wondered if we were distracted or overwhelmed with the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m happy to report that CRU, like all of our officers, has done what high performance organizations in any field do – they’ve quickly adapted,” he said.
