BARNEGAT LIGHT – A boater was taken to a hospital after one boat struck another boat, which was stationary, according to a Coast Guard press release.

Around 3 p.m. on Sunday, a Sea Tow employee reported that a boat ran aground, and then a second boat struck that one. A Station Barnegat Light 29-foot Response Boat was dispatched to the area.

Few details have been released. The boat that struck the stationary one was a recreational vehicle, but it is unclear what caused the incident. The injured person’s identity has not been released at this time, nor the extent of her injuries.

A woman injured in the incident was taken to emergency medical services personnel at Station Barnegat Light before later being taken to AtlantiCare Hospital in Atlantic City.
