STAFFORD – Police have issued an arrest warrant for a New York man accused of using stolen credit card information to buy nearly $1,000 worth of flooring materials at a township store.
The Stafford Township Police Department said detectives completed their investigation July 31 into a fraudulent purchase made April 8 at The Home Depot on Route 72.
Investigators said the victim’s credit card information was manually entered during a transaction involving about $973 in assorted flooring products.
Detectives identified Joseph Diaz-Herra, 20, of Carroll Place in the Bronx, as the suspect, police said.
Diaz-Herra is charged with exhibiting false government-issued identification, intending to commit credit card fraud, credit card theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and theft by deception.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about Diaz-Herra’s location to contact the Stafford Township Police Department Detective Bureau or their local police department.
Detective Zac Halliday led the investigation.
The charges are accusations. Diaz-Herra is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
