SHIP BOTTOM – A beach patrol vehicle struck two tourists laying on the 26th Street Beach, police reported.
The incident happened on May 2 at around 1 p.m. The two female victims, a 14-year-old from Fleetwood, PA and a 15-year-old from Leestwood, PA, were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and released after being treated.
The driver, John Purdon, 22, of Barnegat, was charged with reckless driving.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
