Arrested: Man Threatened Stafford Costco Employee

STAFFORD – Township Police discovered the identity of a man featured in a video that went viral on social media showing a customer at a township Costco berating, threatening and causing a scene within the store on July 29.

  Officer Joseph Stanziano had taken the initial complaint and started an investigation into the matter at the Manahawkin Costco. He was assisted by members of the department’s Detective Bureau who identified William Commauf, 48, of Barnegat.

  On Aug. 5 a warrant was issued for Commauf’s arrest. He was arrested without incident with the assistance of members of the Barnegat Township Police Dept. He was charged with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct and process at the Stafford Township Police Dept. and later transported to the Ocean County Jail.

  Stafford police thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.
