OCEAN COUNTY – Three people were arrested during an apparent drug sale by an undercover operation, police said.
Members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force Detectives located a man and a woman operating a 2002 Blue Ford Explorer in the parking lot of the Shop Rite on Route 37 in Toms River.
While surveilling the two, they appeared to be in the middle of a drug sale with a woman.
When detectives approached the car, the man reached into the center console and behind the seat, police said. When the officers removed him from the vehicle, the man resisted arrest and injured one of the detectives, who was later treated at the scene. It was revealed that the vehicle had a flare gun and a machete inside it, as well as about 200 individual dosage units of heroin and some cocaine.
