OCEAN COUNTY – President Donald Trump is calling on the Orthodox Jewish community in Lakewood to rally behind Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli as New Jersey’s election approaches tomorrow.
In a Truth Social post Sunday night, Trump singled out Lakewood and its neighboring towns, urging residents to “vote in huge numbers” for Ciattarelli, whom he endorsed as a “great governor” who “will never let you down.”
Trump credited the Ocean County township for helping deliver one of his largest victories in the 2024 presidential race, claiming he won more than 90 percent of the local vote.

The post highlighted Lakewood’s political influence as the closely contested race between Ciattarelli and Democrat Mikie Sherrill enters its final days. Recent polls show the two candidates virtually tied, and high voter turnout in Republican strongholds like Lakewood could play a key role in determining the outcome.
Trump’s message appealed directly to Orthodox voters, referencing yeshiva students and families who supported him in past elections. He said Ciattarelli would “cut your taxes and tremendously reduce your out of control and ridiculous energy costs,” while warning that Sherrill would “double, triple, and even quadruple” those expenses.
A number of high-profile Democrats, including former President Obama, were in New Jersey backing Sherrill last week in the hopes of keeping New Jersey blue.
