PLUMSTED — Three people were killed late Sunday in a head-on collision in Ocean County, authorities said.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that the crash occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on March 1 on Pinehurst Road.
According to an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, a Ford Bronco was traveling northbound when it crossed the double yellow line into the southbound lane, striking a Toyota Sienna.
The driver and two passengers in the Toyota Sienna were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Bronco was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he is listed in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Plumsted Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
